LENT REFLECTIONS 2022

Anne O’Connor writes:

For the past few years I’ve produced a Lent reflection leaflet continuing a format started by my colleague Bryan Halson during our time together on the former Shrewsbury Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission. Bryan died just before Christmas 2021. He will be remembered fondly by those in Shrewsbury diocese and beyond. For Advent 2020 I put together a series of weekly reflections based on the writings of my elder daughter Annie, a scripture scholar, teacher and evangelist who died of natural causes in June 2020. For Lent 2021 I shared some more of her material for the journey from Lent to Easter. I’m using Annie’s words once again as many readers have said they found them helpful. Please use and pass on as you wish.

LENT REFLECTIONS 2021

Anne O’Connor writes:

For the past few years I’ve produced a Lent reflection leaflet continuing a format started by Bryan Halson during our time together on the former Shrewsbury Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission. This year Lent takes on a new meaning for me following the death from natural causes of my beloved elder daughter Annie in June 2020. For Advent 2020 I put together a series of weekly reflections based on her writings as a scripture scholar, teacher and evangelist. For Lent this year I am sharing some more of her material as we journey through Lent towards Easter. Please use and pass on as you wish.

ADVENT REFLECTIONS 2020

Anne O’Connor writes:

My daughter Annie who died in June of natural causes was a scripture scholar and former teacher. For the past four years she worked for Church Army tutoring the Evangelists in Training – lay people who are then qualified to work in parishes implementing community support programmes,  especially in areas of social deprivation.  This year’s Advent Reflections are based on Annie’s writings. I’ve included some background information in each one as they can either stand alone or be used as a set for the four weeks. Church Army has given permission to use extracts from some of the articles she wrote for them and are delighted to see her work carrying on in this way. Please pass on for parish or individual use.

Thanks and best wishes

Anne O’Connor
